Terms & Conditions
Please carefully read the following Terms and Conditions and make sure you understand them before placing your order with Design By Emily.
These Terms and Conditions will apply to any order for the sale of goods and services from Design By Emily. By sending payment of your deposit you are confirming you agree to these Terms and Conditions, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and Design By Emily. Until payment has been received, acknowledging you accept these Terms and Conditions, Design By Emily will not be able to supply goods or services to you.
All orders placed with Design By Emily will be subject to these Terms and Conditions. Design By Emily reserves the right to cancel an order at any stage should any of the Terms and Conditions not be adhered to.
WEDDING STATIONERY ORDERS
It is advisable to order both day and evening invitations at the same time to avoid any additional special order fees. It is strongly recommended that you order more pieces than you need, as printing extra invites in small numbers at a later date can incur substantial additional costs.
Some pieces, such as belly bands, will require assembly on delivery (folding, gluing or adding stickers). For an additional £1 per item, I am happy to add all the finishing touches to your stationery. If this service is required it must be stated at the beginning of the design process so I can factor in enough time to process your order. If this is not stated at the quote and deposit stage, it will be the responsibility of the client to assemble.
When orders are taken Design By Emily will send an order form for you to fill out so all the required information is gathered. Failure to complete this form correctly could result in inaccurate print quotes and a delay in designing your pieces. It is the client’s responsibility to complete the form(s) correctly and promptly.
QUOTES & PAYMENTS
Wedding Stationery - Upon approval of the quote sent by Design By Emily for a Template design or a Bespoke Design, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the design fee will be required before any design work can begin. An invoice for the deposit will be sent from Design By Emily via email. Once final proofs have been approved the remaining balance, along with the any printing costs, must be paid before any printing commences.
Design Work - Upon approval of the quote sent by Design By Emily for design work, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the design fee will be required before any design work can begin. All costs are quoted in and should be paid in GBP by bank transfer. Payment details will be as stated on the invoice sent by Design By Emily. Failure to pay the remaining balance will terminate printing. Design By Emily cannot be held responsible for any delay to work or delivery as a result of late payments. Failure to pay an invoice after 10 days upon receival will result in a fine of 5% of the total design fee added to the final bill for every day the invoice is not paid.
Once your order has been placed and payment of the deposit or (if applicable) full payment, Design By Emily will provide you with an indication of the timescales for commencement of the design process and payment of remaining costs. It is important that you notify Design By Emily immediately if you are unable to work to the schedule as any delay in supplying feedback, providing copy or approving proofs may result in a delay to your order. Delay to your order resulting from any of these reasons is the client’s responsibility. Design By Emily does not accept responsibility for the delay of an order due to a client not responding, providing feedback or not making payments.
Design By Emily aim to complete orders as soon as possible but as a guide please allow the following timescales for orders:
Print Ready PDFs - the design and print turnaround is 1-2 weeks for all Print Ready PDF orders. This allows enough time for proofs to be sent and amended and a final print ready PDF to be received by the client.
Printed Design Orders - the design and print turnaround is 3-4 weeks for all Printed Design Orders. This allows enough time for proofs to be sent and amended. It also allows enough time for artwork to be sent and received from the printers and to be delivered to the pre-agreed address.
Template Wedding Stationery - the design and print turnaround is 3-4 weeks for all Template orders. Orders should ideally be placed 3 months before you wish to send out your save the dates or invitations.
Bespoke Design Wedding Stationery - Bespoke Design turnaround times vary depending on the complexity of the design and print finish. It is advised that for a bespoke design you place your order at least 3 months before you wish to send out your save the dates or invitations. The design process takes approximately 6-8 weeks but can take longer during busy periods.
On The Day Stationery - depending on the number of items to design and the finish, it is advised that all wedding day stationery is ordered no later than 8 weeks prior to your wedding date. Design by Emily aim to have orders delivered no later than 2 weeks prior to the wedding date, but this is only possible when sufficient notice has been provided and the required information/feedback has been provided on time.
Etsy Template orders - the design and print turnaround is 2-3 weeks for all Template orders. Orders should ideally be placed 2 months before you wish to send out your save the dates or invitations.
Design By Emily does not accept responsibility for the delay of an order due to a client not responding, providing feedback or not making payments on time.
If your order is required within 1-2 weeks, this may be considered a rush job depending on workloads. All rush jobs are subject to an additional charge of £50 - which will be added to your final bill.
If you would like alterations made to Template Designs, such as colour, size, layout or font changes, incur an addition fee of £50 added to the final bill.
PROOFS & ARTWORK
Up to 3 digital proofs of each item will be sent via email. Great care is taken to ensure all information is accurate, however it is the responsibility of the client to final check the layout, spelling and grammar. If designs are approved with errors and subsequently printed Design By Emily will not be liable for any resulting cost to reprint. If replacements are required, then an additional fee of £25 per item will be charged, together with the full cost of the reprint. The reprint will not take place until this payment is received. It is therefore vital that you check proofs thoroughly before approving.
Design and proofing takes time and this has been factored into the design cost. Design By Emily will provide up to 3 free digital proofs for each item. Thereafter proofs will be charged at £25 each. It is recommended that you carefully check the design and content and clearly notify Design By Emily of any information that needs to be amended straight away. Physical proofs are charge at £15 each for standard print and £25 for digitally foiled pieces.
There is a minimum print order of 25 for all personalised template and bespoke pieces. It is strongly recommended that you order more stationery than you think you need as printing extras will en-cure the minimum print charge or 25 pieces.
Template Designs - Template design orders through the Design By Emily Etsy Store (www.etsy.com/uk/shop/designbyemilyshop) only receive 1 digital proof per order. This is due to the fact Etsy take a percentage of my earnings so this is made up in time. It also provides a quicker turn around. Great care is taken to ensure all information is accurate, however it is the responsibility of the client to final check the layout, spelling and grammar. If designs are approved with errors and subsequently printed Design By Emily will not be liable for any resulting cost to reprint.
Digital Downloads - Automatic digital downloads purchased through the Design By Emily Etsy Store (www.etsy.com/uk/shop/designbyemilyshop) are to be used by the purchaser only. Re-distribution or printing of digital product purchases is prohibited.
Please note that the colour on your screen may differ from printed colour as each screen is ‘calibrated’ differently and this is particularly noticeable on mobile devices. Please bear in mind that printers also vary and therefore the colours may differ slightly. However, please be assured that your final stationery will be printed on the highest quality professional printers.
If ordering a combination of foil printing and digitally printed items, please be aware that it may not be possible to exactly match the colours due to the variation in each print technique. If Pantone colour targets have been specified this is simply a visual guide and it is not possible to accurately match Pantone colours using a digital CMYK print process.
Design By Emily reserves the right to cancel an order at any stage should any of the Terms and Conditions not be adhered to.
If a client does not respond to emails, proofs or fails to make payments on time, Design By Emily reserves the right to treat the order as cancelled.
If a client decides to cancel an order they must let Design By Emily know as soon as possible. All cancellations will result in the loss of a paid deposit. Under no circumstances will this be reconsidered.
If a client decides to cancel a Template order on Etsy, this must be done within 48 hours of placing the order or work will have been started and the payment will be lost.
Personalised orders can not be returned or refunded.
DELIVERY & INTERNATIONAL ORDERS
The utmost care will be taken when packaging your orders for delivery. Orders will be sent by a signed for courier or Royal Mail service. The cost of UK delivery is included in the quotation. For delivery overseas, Design By Emily will discuss the most appropriate delivery arrangements with you and agree them in writing in advance of delivery. A delivery address will be confirmed with you before your order is posted.
Design By Emily cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your order once it has been dispatched. Design By Emily will not be liable or responsible for any delays caused by any act or event beyond our reasonable control. If such an event occurs, Design By Emily will contact you as soon as possible to notify you. For the duration of such act or event, our obligations to you will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the event. Design By Emily will contact you to discuss revised timescales.

Design By Emily reserves the right to use any stationery created for you to promote their products and services. However, your contact details will never be shared with any third parties and are held in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
These Terms and Conditions comprise a contract between you and Design By Emily. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms, whether under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise. These Terms and Conditions (and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in relation to them) shall be governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
